At the City University of Hong Kong, we proudly present our pioneering BSc in Computational Finance and Financial Technology (CFFT) program.  Established on a legacy of educational excellence, our program is a beacon of innovation, designed to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving financial landscape.

 

A Rich History of Evolution and Inspiration

Our journey began in 2016 in response to the University’s call for consolidation and enhancement of the undergraduate programmes to re-structuring of the Quantitative Finance and Risk Management stream of BBA in Finance.   In 2016, the BSc Computational Finance programme was launched under the College of Business, an interdisciplinary programme offering a comprehensive curriculum covering state-of-the-art training in finance, mathematics, statistics, and computer programming.  In 2019, we further expanded our horizons by adding streams under the programme, namely the Computational Finance stream and the Financial Technology stream, offering students a choice to integrate into today’s financial markets and to delve into the burgeoning world of FinTech.

A Comprehensive Curriculum at the Forefront of Finance and Technology

The BSc in Computational Finance and Financial Technology (CFFT) at City University of Hong Kong is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in research, quantitative analysis, and technology training in finance. Reflecting the innovative spirit of the program, students have the flexibility to either focus on one of the two specialized streams or broaden their learning by taking courses related to both Computational Finance and Financial Technology.

 

Specialized Streams for Focused Learning

Computational Finance (ComFin) Stream: This stream prepares students for graduate studies and careers in the financial industry that require high-caliber quantitative and analytical skills. It offers an interdisciplinary education in business, including training in mathematics, statistics, computer programming, and finance.

Financial Technology (FinTech) Stream: Tailored for careers in the emerging FinTech industry, this stream equips students with solid technology training and finance domain knowledge. The interdisciplinary education covers business, information technology, and innovation, with training in mathematics, statistics, programming, information systems, and finance.

 

Degree Requirements

* For students with recognized Advanced Level Examinations or equivalent qualifications
# For Associate Degree/Higher Diploma graduates admitted as senior-year intake students
