Since its founding in 1913, the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma has recognized the outstanding academic achievements of collegiate business and management scholars.

Lifetime membership is the highest recognition business scholars can receive internationally at a business program accredited by AACSB International. Only the top scholars of these programs are invited to join Beta Gamma Sigma. Beta Gamma Sigma is not a fraternity, sorority or student club. It is an organization that recognizes academic excellence in business studies.

Beta Gamma Sigma has established more than 600 collegiate chapters in over 30 countries and territories worldwide, and has inducted more than 900,000 outstanding students into membership since its founding 1913. Members currently reside in all 50 U.S. states and more than 190 countries and serve in corporate, government, non-profit, educational and other management positions at every level of responsibility.

BGS lifetime members are considered the "best of the best" in business. As the highest honor attainable at an AACSB accredited school of business, Beta Gamma Sigma membership is not only a symbol of high achievement, but also a beacon of things to come. The best predictor of future success is past achievement, and membership in BGS is a great way to show potential employers you have what it takes to perform at the highest levels.

The Mission of Beta Gamma Sigma

The Mission of the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to cultivate and celebrate leadership and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members.

The Society's mission is supported by four objectives:
 

1. Encourage and honor academic achievement by students of business and management through chapters in business programs accredited by AACSB International
2. Develop Beta Gamma Sigma members as student and professional leaders, and celebrate continuing leadership and excellence
3. Foster in Beta Gamma Sigma members an enduring commitment to the founding principles and values of the Society: honor and integrity, pursuit of wisdom, earnestness, and service
4. Connect Beta Gamma Sigma student and alumni members to each other and to opportunities in their professional lives

Member Induction

Since its establishment in 2008, the City University of Hong Kong Chapter has inducted over 1700 members into lifetime memberships of Beta Gamma Sigma. The top 5% of undergraduate students, top 10% of postgraduate students, and all eligible PhD students were invited for membership.
